I’ve watched people show up nervous and leave with the kind of confidence that changes what they think they’re capable of. That’s what this is about. I’m ASA Instructor of the Year and the owner of a NauticEd affiliate school offering sailing certification out of Vancouver BC and La Paz, Mexico — 360+ sailors from zero to worldwide bareboat certification.
My training ground spans two of the world’s great sailing regions: Beautiful BC in summer, where tidal currents and changing conditions teach real seamanship, and the Sea of Cortez in winter, where clear water and thermal winds build the calm decision-making that carries you anywhere on earth.
I’ve been honored as a member of the Killer Whale Clan of the Gitga’at First Nation — a recognition that reflects the depth of my connection to the waters and communities of coastal BC.
I built My Own Sailboat Adventures on a simple belief: the path from “I want to sail” to “I’m skippering my own charter in Croatia” should be clear, practical, and available to anyone willing to put in the week. No gatekeeping. No intimidation. Real skills, real water, and a life opened up.
